Love Island's Luca Bish has reportedly finally met beau Gemma Owen 's famous footballer father, Michael Owen.
A "nervous" Luca, 23, and his 19 year old squeeze have flown out to the Algave, Portugal, to visit the Owen family's luxury villa in Quinta Do Lago, and to reportedly spend some quality time with Gemma's parents, dad Michael and mum Louise.
During her time on Love Island, Gemma was very vocal about how close she is with her family, and even went as far as to say if her mum didn't approve of someone she was dating, it would effectively end the relationship.
No doubt Luca was keen to impress if he did finally meet Michael, who is one of the UK's best-known footballers and was a legend in his day, playing for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City and the England national team.
While it's not officially been confirmed that Michael is in Portugal, he has posted about being on holiday on Instagram, uploading a smiling snap of himself sat in a restaurant, writing: "A few days of sun".
A source has told The Sun: "Luca has been nervous about meeting Michael which is, of course, totally natural.
"He adores Gemma and knows that he has to impress.
"They flew out from Gatwick this morning to spend time with him and Gemma’s mum at their private villa in Quinta Do Lago."
Luca had already met Gemma's mum during the Meet the Parents episode of Love Island, however, her father was nowhere to be seen and he's kept a relatively low-profile when it comes to his daughter's stint on Love Island, which has made her a household name.
Luca has wasted no time in letting people know he's back in the sunshine, posting a snap of himself laying on a sun lounger in a pair of grey shorts from Gemma's OG Beachwear range.
Alongside the image he wrote: "Does this count as our first holiday together or? It’s only right that I wear @ogbeachwear @gemowen_1 "
He also posted an Instagram story as he enjoyed a walk with Gemma, who can be seen in the background looking typically stunning in a figure-hugging dress.
Hinting that they might finally be about to make things official, Luca said to the camera: "Evening stroll with my girlfriend", as Gemma laughs in the background.
Over the top of the video, Luca wrote: "Mission ask Gem to be my girlfriend is in motion".
Speaking on Good Morning Britain last week, the former Islanders revealed that they haven't made things official just yet.
GMB host Richard Madeley asked them: "What's the future – are you going to get engaged? Are you going to get married?"
Gemma laughed: "We're not even boyfriend and girlfriend yet!"
Charlotte Hawkins then questioned them: "Are you sort of official then?", however Luca replied: "Not yet."
"I mean we're pretty much official, we've just not got a label on it," Gemma added.
Luca then said: "I will do it."
