Love Island star Gemma Owen doesn’t seem to be the best fan of couple Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti after she said they tried to “steal the show” on Thursday’s episode.
The 19 year old accused the pair of doing so during Tasha Ghouri’s romantic moment with Andrew Le Page as she asked him to be her boyfriend.
Tasha, 23 had urged her fellow Islanders last night to help her lay out sweet notes to Andrew, 27, in a treasure hunt, before she proposed the question to him in the villa.
Ekin-Su and Davide, both 27, were seen at one point out on the terrace as Andrew found his first note there, leading Gemma to say: “Why are they trying to steal the f***ing show?"
Her comments sparked reactions from viewers on Twitter as they defended their fan favourites, with one person writing: “’Why are they trying to steal the show’ — Gemma they ARE the show. #LoveIsland".
“Why are they tryna f***ing steal the show’, Gemma makes me laugh,” a second user commented, as someone else said: “’Why are they tryna steal the f***ing show?’ What do you mean Gemma? it is their show.”
Other viewers agreed with Gemma, that Ekin-Su and Davide wanted to take away from Tasha and Andrew’s moment.
“’Why are they trying to steal the show’, Gemma ain’t lying why are they still there…,” one person tweeted.
Andrew read out the first note as Ekin-Su and Davide sat beside him, which told him he must go where Tasha first mentioned her ‘superpower’. He then headed to the fire pit, where Tasha was waiting to pop the boyfriend question.
Gemma had her own eventful night with Luca Bish as the couple exchanged the big L-word for the first time to each other.
The fishmonger, 23, confessed to the dressage champion: "I think I am in love with you. No, I am in love with you. I do love you and that's it."
Gemma replied quietly: “That’s actually mad to hear that”, before finally adding: "I love you too."
Her reserved response unconvinced some fans she felt the same way as Luca, as one person tweeted: "Gemma fought that “I love you” back with everything she had".
Another said: "Now, do we think Gemma REALLY wanted to say it already, or was mr.fisherman [Luca] kinda pushing it a lil…idk if i’m sold sold."
