Louise Redknapp was left shocked by ex-husband Jamie Redknapp’s recent baby news, but the star is now throwing herself into her career in a bid to move on and make a fresh start, a source told new magazine.

The former Eternal star was recently unmasked as the Flamingo on The Masked Dancer and is also set to reprise her role as Violet in the tour for 9 To 5: The Musical in August.

“Louise was stunned by the news Jamie was expecting a baby and it did hurt her,” a source told new magazine. “But it was the push she needed to move on and that’s exactly what she intends to do."

“She’s been making her career a No1 priority again. She wants people to know her as Louise the performer, not Jamie’s ex-wife. She has so much going on right now that excites her.

"She loved being part of The Masked Dancer, it gave her a new lease of life. And she can’t wait to get back on the stage. She loves performing in front of a crowd. She just wants to focus on the positives.”

Louise was said to have been “knocked sideways” when it was revealed that Jamie was expecting a baby with girlfriend Frida Andersson Lourie – who he was first linked to in August 2020.

The news came just months after Louise revealed in her tell-all book that she regretted the end of her 19-year marriage to Jamie in 2017, admitting: “I wish I’d tried. I want to say to anyone thinking of running, just slow down. Don’t run.”

But the shock revelation was the push she needed to move on, and our source claimed Louise now believes true love will find her when she least expects it.

“Louise doesn’t want to go looking for love as she thinks you never find it that way,” the source added.

“She believes it will happen when she’s not expecting it and everything will fall into place. She’s young at heart so would likely go for a younger guy who enjoys having fun.

"She’s so down-to-earth so thinks dating a man who is not in the public eye could be good.

"Although she also thinks someone who is in the same industry as her works as they get the pressures of it all.”
