Liam Gallagher, 50, has been following along with the I’m A Celebrity action and couldn’t resist an expletive-laden tweet after discovering Babatunde Aleshe had left the jungle, while the controversial former Health Secretary Matt Hancock was still at large. Lamenting the public’s decision to keep Matt, Liam said he “couldn’t live” in a world where the MP was winning.

Just minutes after comedian Babatunde left, Liam tweeted to his 6.3 million followers: “F*** off love Babatunde, can’t live in a world where t**t Hancock still pulling the wool.”

As the likes piled up on his post, Babatunde himself responded with a fist emoji, declaring: “MAN LIKE LIAM GALLAGHER!!!!!!!!”

The post was then flooded by cheeky fans mischievously asking Liam who he preferred – his brother Noel, with whom he has a well documented feud, or Matt.

Liam, who describes himself in his Twitter profile as a “God-like” icon, received a string of messages from followers demanding that he entered the show himself and predicting he’d be crowned the King of the Jungle.

However, a minority showed support for Matt and criticised Liam’s support for Babatunde.

“How many vaccines has Babatunde successfully rolled out?” @DanHarvey74 quizzed.

However, Matt angered the nation after he was exposed for breaking his own social distancing rules during the pandemic to snatch a kiss with Gina Coladangelo behind the back of his wife.

The shamed Health Secretary was forced to resign over the scandal, saying in a letter to the PM that the government “owe it to people who have sacrificed so much in this pandemic to be honest when we have let them down”.

Those who had been forbidden from seeing loved ones as they lay ill or dying were fuming over Matt’s arrival in the jungle, Boy George included.

His entrance into the jungle ruffled some of his fellow campmates, with Charlene White famously refusing to share an RV with him as she felt it inappropriate given her job as an impartial journalist.

However, Matt has survived six Bushtucker Trials and has still not been voted out, leading to Liam’s furious post.

Following his split from his wife of 15 years, and a host of negative publicity, the shamed MP had begged for “forgiveness” and hinted he thought he could find redemption in the jungle.

Now six celebrities have been sent home – Charlene White, Scarlette Douglas, Sue Cleaver, Boy George, Babatunde and Chris Moyles, the most recent public figure to reach the end of the road.

Christopher Biggins had predicted that Matt would manage to evade eviction, with the former King of the Jungle even praising him for “winning” public support.

“He’s doing everything brilliantly and however much you may hate him, he is a player and he goes for it – he really does go for it, he gets all the stars.

“He feeds the camp, he’s charming, [he’s] won over the camp and I think he’s winning the audience over too,” he claimed last week.

Meanwhile Tess Daly’s wife Vernon Kay commented that although he was “swimming against the tide”, his trials had been “absolutely awesome”.

Four other celebrities join Matt as the last ones standing: Owen Warner, Jill Scott, Mike Tindall and Seann Walsh.

The tension is rising and everything is left to play for as fans now await the crowning of the 2022 King or Queen of the Jungle.
