Marvel movies can sometimes feel like A-list celebrities are just playing dress-up for us. Whether you’re turned into a Hulk, given a suit of armor, or sent thousands of lightyears into space to fight CGI monsters and tell jokes, the MCU can end up feeling like a giant playground for adults. That said, it’s easy to forget how coveted a Marvel role is in Hollywood nowadays. Hell, even a star of their own action film franchise can be demoted to voicing a talking tree that can only say one thing!
So, if you ask any celebrity what role they would want next, eight times out of ten they will probably blurt the name of a random Marvel hero. Guess who the latest Marvel wannabe is? In a recent interview, none other than Kim Kardashian threw her hat into the ring. She just voiced a talking dog named Delores in the Paw Patrol movie, so naturally, her first go at acting in a big-budget action film should be in a Marvel flick. “Would I act? I would if something fun came about. Maybe a Marvel movie, that would be so fun to do,” she told Interview Magazine.
Sometimes it works! Harry Styles nabbed an end credits reveal in Eternals as Eros, Thanos’s brother. Meanwhile, rapper Megan Thee Stallion made an appearance as herself in the Disney+ She-Hulk series. Guys like Henry Cavill are contemplating moving from playing Superman—the most famous superhero of all time—to a role in a Marvel TV series that will likely be someone a lay audience has never even heard of. All of this may have confused the celebrity world into thinking that merely uttering the word Marvel a few times, like it’s Beetlejuice, will get them in a superhero suit.
Kim will have to brush up a bit on her superhero knowledge if she plans on joining the MCU, however. Bad Bunny chose the obscure superhero wrestler El Muerto himself when offered a Marvel role by Sony. Kim Kardashian, as of a couple of months ago, doesn’t know who Thor is. Hell, she doesn’t even know who Chris Hemsworth is!
If Disney is game to let Kim take a break from her SKIMS empire to put on a green suit and join the MCU, there are still many avenues they can go down. Kardashian could voice an animated character from the Spider-Verse, or she could play herself and be revealed as a Skrull in Secret Invasion. She could even make a cameo in She-Hulk. They’re both lawyers now, aren’t they? It’s your move, Kevin Feige.
