Kangana Ranaut comes out in support for Tanushree Dutta, says her courage to speak should be appreciated

After Renuka Shahane, Twinkle Khanna and Priyanka Chopra, the queen of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of Tanushree Dutta, who accused Nana Patekar for sexually assaulting her in 2008 on the sets on Horn Ok Please. When asked about her opinion on the topic, she told to a leading entertainment portal, “I am not here to pass judgement. That’s neither my place nor my intention. I appreciate her courage to speak about alleged harassment that has been caused to her. It’s her and the accused’s fundamental right to speak about their experience of the same situation. Such dialogue is very healthy and it will bring about a lot of awareness.”

In fact, actress Lisa Ray also extended her solidarity to the Aashiq Banaya Actress through her Instagram post, which was captioned, “Following with interest and empathy the dialogue that has been opened by actress #TanushreeDutta in India. It’s no secret that women are sized up and cut down in the Hindi film industry and while things are changing, we need more voices to come forward, in sane and clear sighted discussion ?
Now when I discuss with friends the #MeToo movement, the Kavanaugh case and closer to home, the voices raised when an actress accuses a reputed Hindi film actor of harassment, I look at my daughters, Sufi and Soleil, and think, how would I want them to be treated? What sort of principles do they need to abide by in the world as they grow? And will they inherit a world that abides by them?

Apart from the above celebs, assistant director of Horn Ok Please Shyni Shetty confessed that whatever Tanushree is saying is true and she was the eye-witness of that incident. On the other hand, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddiqui and director Rakesh Sarang have denied all the allegations.
