Jennifer Lawrence Nude Photo Hacker Sentenced to Prison Time

The Oscar-winning actress previously compared the invasion of privacy to getting “gang banged by the f–king planet.”

The man responsible for leaking Jennifer Lawrence’s private nude photos in 2014 has been sentenced to eight months in prison for his crime.

The Associated Press reported George Garofano — who pleaded guilty in April — was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After he gets out of the slammer, he’s also got three years of supervised release and 60 hours of community service to complete.

Garofano was one of four men arrested for hacking over 200 iCloud accounts, including those of other Hollywood stars Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Kirsten Dunst.

Lawrence has spoken up about the criminal invasion of privacy on multiple occasions over the years, first telling Vanity Fair, "It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime."

"It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change," she continued in the interview. "Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside. Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame."

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in November of 2017, she said, "When the hacking thing happened, it was so unbelievably violating that you can’t even put into words."

"I feel like I got gang banged by the f–king planet," Lawrence continued. "There was not one person in the world that is not capable of seeing these intimate photos of me. You can just be at a barbecue and somebody can just pull them up on their phone. That was a really impossible thing to process."
