Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha is inspired by Tom Hanks’ blockbuster Forrest Gump. It was based on a 1986 novel by the same name, written by Winston Groom.
Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan recently started the shooting of Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha in Chandigarh. While the cine-goers are excited for this venture, popular television actress Mona Singh, who garnered fame with Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin has come on board to play a crucial role in the film. A source close to the film told Midday, “Details of her character have been kept under wraps.” Interestingly, this Mona’s second collaboration with Aamir and Kareena after Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, where she played Bebo’s elder sister.
The source further said, “Advait Chandan (director) believes Mona fits the role perfectly. The first schedule is underway in Chandigarh, and Mona will join the cast soon.” Mona Singh also confirmed the news and said, “I am looking forward to our shoot. Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you get. For me, it’s been a box of wishes that came true. It will be exciting and challenging to play this role as it spans over a lifetime.”

Meanwhile, Hanks was applauded for his performance with a Best Actor Oscar award. The movie also performed well at the Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards, and Young Artist Awards. It is written by Atul Kulkarni and is set to hit the screens on Christmas 2020. The film will clash with Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon starrer Bachchan Pandey at the box office.
