Inside Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's New York City Townhouses

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are a power couple with one of the longest-lasting celebrity marriages. They tied the knot in 1997 and today have three children together. The actors have resided in Manhattan for several years and own or have owned multiple properties in the Big Apple.

Here are the details and a peek inside some of Parker and Broderick’s New York City townhouses.

Inside Parker and Broderick’s former New York City townhouse

Fans may recall when the Sex and the City actor participated in Vogue’s “73 Questions.” Parker did so in 2014 and that’s when she gave everyone a look inside her and Broderick’s longtime residence.

The couple purchased the three-story townhouse located in the West Village for $3 million in 2000. However, they reportedly shelled out much more to completely renovate the property which was built in 1905. During the “73 Questions” video Parker wonders around her abode giving fans a chance to see the first floor. There are archways above the rooms, dark hardwood flooring, crown molding, a fireplace, a few floor-to-ceiling windows, green walls in the family room, and plenty of shelves stuffed with books.

But the And Just Like That… star and her hubby no longer own that home.

In 2021, they sold it for $15 million.

Their $35 million townhouses and more

In 2016, Parker and Broderick snatched up not one but two townhouses next to one another, also in Manhattan’s West Village, for a whopping $35 million. Shortly after their purchase, they hired the company Morris Adjmi Architects to start renovating both properties to combine them into one massive 13,900-square-foot mansion. The homes also feature a 2,100-square-foot private garden.

But they aren’t the only places they’ve owned in NYC.

The pair also had another pad in the Greenwich Village neighborhood. It’s 6,800 square feet and boasts five bedrooms, five full baths, and three half bathrooms. They reportedly bought that townhome for $19 million with the intent to flip it after several upgrades. But they didn’t have any takers at the $25 million asking price in 2012 so they lowered and put it on the market again a couple of years later.

Their secret to a long-lasting marriage

Because the couple, who began dating in 1991, has one of the long-lasting celebrity marriages a question they’ve been asked in the past is: What’s their secret to a long relationship?

On Sirius XM’s Radio Andy show in 2020, Broderick couldn’t come up with an answer. “I don’t know the secret at all, but I’m very grateful and I love her and, it’s amazing,” he said, per CNN. “I mean, I can’t believe that it’s been that long. It doesn’t feel like it.”

Parker, on the other hand, did have an answer to what one of the secrets could be and that’s some time apart. “I know this sounds nuts, but we have lives that allow us to be away and come back together,” she previously said on Sophia Amoruso’s Girlboss Radio podcast.
