I’m A Celebrity’s Jill Scott shares terrifying near-death experience on nose-diving plane

Jill Scott was once left fearing for her life alongside the Lionesses when the plane they were on began nose-diving during the 2019 Women's World Cup.

The 35 year old, who is currently in the Australian jungle taking part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, told the Mirror that the plane suddenly started facing down during their journey to France.

However, while her teammates were frantically calling their loved ones, Jill was too busy listening to music with current England captain Leah Williamson, 25, who was trying to distract her from her fear of flying.

"We nearly went down. It was really bad. It was the World Cup in France," Jill explained, before revealing how the pilot said the situation had never happened in his 30 years on the job.

Insisting it was "something worse" than an air pocket, Jill said: "All of our heads went up."

At the time, Jill was listening to music and talking to Leah about the James Morrison song Love Is Hard. She continued: "Out of 3,000 songs [on Leah's iPod, which was on shuffle] that song actually came on next, then that plane thing happened and I thought, 'This is meant to be, our lives are over.'"

Jill said she wasn't "scared" thanks to the iPod, but did admit the situation was "so bad".

"People were being sick. We had a lot of flights that trip but after that one of the staff members didn't fly [again]. I am forever grateful to Leah for that moment," she added.

Meanwhile, Leah said that they had in fact hit an air pocket and the pilot had to drop to get out of it. She added that one of her teammates actually screamed "we're going down!" during the terrifying ordeal.

Despite Jill's fear of flying, she managed to make the long journey from the UK to Australia to take part in I'm A Celebrity, where she's been entertaining fans with her rapping and dancing skills.

Recently, fans were left in awe of the Lioness for keeping calm when a cockroach got lodged in her ear and a medic had to rush in to get it out.

The dramatic scenes came as a result of Jill choosing to take on the Unlucky Dip, after which she told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’ve just got a cockroach stuck in my ear.”

Thankfully, a medic was on hand to remove the creature straight away, and a shaken Jill managed to joke: “Come to the jungle they said, it would be fun…”

“Jill, that was bigger than the one Fatima Whitbread had up her nose!” Ant cried, trying to make light of the situation.

Reacting to the horrifying scenes, one fan wrote on Twitter: "#JillScott is a national treasure. Calmness under pressure with a cockroach in her ear. Amazing," as another called her a "champ".
