Martin Roberts, 56, founded his self-titled charity The Martin Roberts Foundation, as an innovative way to raise money through donations and sponsorship to support educational and well-being initiatives for children and young people. Giving his fans a special giveaway in exchange for a donation to the cause, they were promised an umbrella but one poor fan was yet to receive theirs, something Martin was extremely apologetic about.

Sorry I hadn’t spotted that you had done that

During his latest weekly Q&A, the fan prompted the property expert after his previous messages had gone without a reply.

“Can you please reply to my last message when I’ve donated money as requested to your charity in return for one of your lovely umbrellas?” the user penned.

“Or DM me so I can send you my address please? Thank you.”

The BBC presenter was quick off the ball to get back to the fan without further ado.

Addressing the user, he responded: “Will do. Sorry I hadn’t spotted that you had done that.

“I will follow you now so that you can DM me your address.”

With all the questions and messages Martin receives not only for his Q&A sessions, but on the daily, an honest mistake was made and rectified all in a days work.

Another viewer prompted Martin to look into the future, about what his dream house would look like.

And it’s fair to say, it sounds marvellous.

The fan asked a hypothetical question: “If money were no object what kind of property and lifestyle would be your ideal?

“Mine’s a Victorian rectory and I would be Lady Bountiful, holding the village fete on my land and judging the flower show! Or maybe that little hut in Death in Paradise?”

Martin drooled over the thought of both, agreeing: “I’ll join you in both.

“Anything with a view of the ocean and an infinity swimming pool for me.”

We could all do with a bit of relaxation during these tough times.

Due to coronavirus, Homes Under the Hammer has been airing repeats of the property show on BBC, but fans are starting to get impatient waiting for new episodes.

And naturally, Martin found himself having to reassure viewers that newbies are on their way.

“I ask again why are we watching x 3 repeats of HUH? No new projects?” one questioned.

“We filmed lots just before lockdown and they are gradually filtering through. So don’t give up hope,” Martin joked, teasing future episodes.

Someone else had the same idea, saying: “Are we going to see some new episodes of Hammer soon?

“Enjoying the repeats but now on the second or third watching!”

Martin explained: “Yes! I did some voiceovers for the new episodes last week, so shouldn’t be too long before they’re on your screen.”

Homes Under The Hammer airs weekdays at 10:45am on BBC One.
