Gaz Beadle has taken charge of his children's daily routines while his wife Emma McVey remains in hospital after "losing blood, nutrients and weight".

The former Geordie Shore star expressed his hopes for Emma to be discharged by the weekend as he kept his son Chester, three, and daughter Primrose, 18 months, preoccupied and entertained.

In snaps shared to his Instagram Story, the 33 year old shared an adorable picture of the youngsters with the caption: "Smile for mummy" alongside a heart-eyed emoji.

The super cute duo were then keen to get some energy out, and in the following snap, they were seen frantically running around the living room with toys on the floor.

Soon it was time to get some fresh air and little Chester handed Gaz a daisy, telling him that it was "for mummy".

The trio made their way indoors, where Primrose watched Peppa Pig on television while Chester enjoyed the 1977 classic Annie.

Chester and Primrose were also given a plate of snacks to enjoy while relaxing in front of the screen.

"Hopefully Emma back for the weekend. If not fingers crossed Monday. Thank you for all the nice messages," he captioned another image.

Gaz went on to share his delight as he successfully put both children down for bed.

The day earlier, Emma, 28, was rushed to the hospital and put on a drip. She has since updated fans about her ordeal on Instagram.

Posting to her Instagram Stories, Emma wrote: "Emails/ work/ DMs, I will get back to everyone when I am out of hospital. We weren't prepared for this as much as we've been panicking about preparing the kids for when I go into hospital."

Emma followed up her message to explain the situation a little more, writing: "So sorry guys, poor Gary has just been bombarded.

"I'm not having my heart surgery yet," she continued. "I'm losing a lot of blood, nutrients & weight unintentionally which is making me really poorly.

"I just need to stay in hospital on a drip, have steroids and get nutrients in me. Once my body starts responding I'll be allowed home with medications but probably not until next week so I'll most likely be quiet on here."

Earlier this year, Emma – who married Gaz in a stunning ceremony back in July – was diagnosed with three large holes in her heart.

She will undergo open-heart surgery to fix the defect and previously admitted that her health issues have left her feeling anxious.
