It has been a long, long wait for Game of Thrones. And we’re hoping it would be worth it. Game of Thrones season 8 episode 1 premieres after two years. The last time we saw the show, the makers left fans on a cliffhanger with the help of the White Walkers and the Night King. The last episode packed in some mind-blowing twists. The show finally revealed Jon Snow’s true identity, Jon and Daenerys Targaryen consummate their attraction and the White Walkers have breached wall. Well, they destroyed it would sound better. Our hearts still ache when we remember Dany’s dragon helped the Night King break the wall and the walkers have made their way to the other side.

And now, we finally have GoT’s season 8 episode 1 details in our hands and it has been nothing less than an adventure. Here are a few highlights WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.
Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen arrive in Winterfell:
The wait is over. The Unsullied, Dothraki and Daenerys’ dragons have made a regal entry into Winterfell as the North and Wildlings welcomed, with worried hearts. But they were not welcomed with good news. Bran comes forward to inform the duo that one of Dany’s dead dragons to join the team of dead.
An episode of reunions:
Jon reunites with Bran Stark:What an emotional moment. All this time, we had only pictured it in our heads. And now, it has finally happened.
Tyrion Lannister and Sansa Stark:
At one point they were man and wife. But today, Sansa is the Lady of Winterfell while Tyrion stands as the Hand of the Queen. The two reunite in the new episode at it was as awkward as it could get.
Arya Stark meets Jon Snow:We’re teary-eyed as we see Jon and Arya reunite. He meets Needle, the sword Jon gave Arya as he introduces his sword to her before they get emotional about the Stark family.
Arya meets The Hound:After she left him to die, Arya and The Hound reunite and our hearts went, YES! Arya also met her friend, Gendry aka King Robert’s bastard.
Cersei Lannister reaffirms alliance with Euron Greyjoy:
With his Iron Fleet, Euron returns to King’s Landing with Yara in his captive. He has motives to “f**k the queen.” And he’s not alone. He’s got the Golden Company with him, who is here to support the Lannister army in the King’s Landing.
Theon saves Yara:
After all this time, Theon overcomes his fears and saves his sister before venturing towards the North to join Jon and others to fight against the White Walkers.
Jon rides the dragon:
Our hearts skipped a beat as we watched Jon climbed on the dragon’s back and soar into the sky, with Dany by his side. Just like everyone in Winterfell, we couldn’t believe our eyes. The moment ends with Jon and Dany kiss with the picturesque waterfall forming the background.
