Fern Britton, 64, has openly declared her love for a new furry friend on social media. The presenter and author took to Twitter to introduce a tiny cat to her 92,000 followers.
Sharing a heartwarming snap of the kitten, Fern simply stated: “I’m in love.”
The media personality also added an emoji of a cat with heart-shaped eyes.
Fern’s fans immediately flooded her comments section with messages gushing about the cutie and wondering if the cat was a new addition to her family.
MelsieDunbar enquired: “New lodger?
“So gorgeous, does this little one have a name yet?”
LynnH87716888 commented: “Justifiably so.”
Ive_3_sons asked: “Aaaww just gorgeous.
“Is he/she yours Fern?”
Nuttytroselove said: “Oh her little Button nose.”
Fern is one of Britain’s best-known broadcasters, thanks to her appearances on Ready Steady Cook and This Morning.
However, she has previously highlighted the struggles of her life in the public eye.
The presenter admitted she was forced to grow tough skin back in the 1980s when she was getting her foot in the door of the entertainment industry.
She confessed that at first, she used to get “shouted at” when she interviewed people.
Fern spoke out about her beginnings as a media personality during a chat on the Book Off! with fellow guest Jeremy Vine.
She explained: “I grew up as a journalist with 10 years in newsrooms.
“You certainly learn to not take offence personally because you’re getting shouted at all the time.
“And then at the end of the show, when you are all having a pint in the bar – this is the 80s – it is all hail fellow well met and it was fine.”
Fern continued: “You get very strong and you don’t burst into tears and head to the loo.”
In 1981, she started at the BBC on Spotlight before moving on to Breakfast Time.
She also had stints as a stand-in presenter on the BBC’s News After Noon.
