Ashish Chowdhry who played Boman in the Dhamaal series is going to be missing from the third installment of the movie. Today, when the trailer of the movie Total Dhamaal released, Chowdhry was awestruck by it. “It is spectacular. The first thing I told the makers was that it is a 200 crore plus film,” the actor said. Chowdhry went on to say that the makers are like family to him and therefore, even before the trailer of the movie was streamed to the public, he was shown a preview. “When they shared the link with me, I replied to them with crying emojis. It is a blockbuster movie. Once I saw the trailer I also started feeling bad.”
The 40-year-old had to opt out of the movie since his dates were clashing with a daily soap. He couldn’t let go of the daily series which completely relied on his shoulders. “I had to give my dedication to the show, so I cannot put my legs in both the places. I knew I would regret it (not choosing the film), but sometimes you have to pick something over another. Maybe it was not written in my destiny,” he added.
Coincidentally, a major part of the shooting of the multi-starrer and filming for Chowdhry’s detective-based TV series were clashing leading to his exit from the movie. However, he is quite content since the show gave him a lot of appreciation. “I don’t have any reason to complain but a lot of reasons to regret,” he sighed.
Along with Chowdhry, Sanjay Dutt is also missing in the third part. When asked about this, the actor explained, “I love the Golmaal franchise. And even in that movie, you’ll see a few characters missing in the further parts. So, when it comes to multi-starrers, dates are a major concern. I’ve learnt that the project has to move on. Few people can be done away with. Sanjay Dutt was not done away with the film since he was the anchor of it, but then Ajay Devgn walks in and he was the perfect guy to anchor it. Also, Sanju Sir got committed into a lot of things.”
Talking about the anchor of the movie Devgn, Ashish said, “I’m sure it would have been tough for Ajay to make it look different from Golmaal since both are multi-starrer comedies. But with the trailer it is out there that it is quite different. What I really liked about the trailer is that it is also giving a lot of vibes from the first part which has been a classic. So, I think they have done the right job.”
On a parting note, we asked Ashish if he is up for the fourth part of the Dhamaal series. “I’m meant to call Indra ji, and I will tell him I’m going to be very upset if I’m not doing the next part. Upset, not with him but with my luck,” he chuckled.
Ashish is currently busy with his production company that will be soon announcing its next project. Contrary to few online reports, he isn’t playing a cameo in the movie. Are you going to miss Ashish in Total Dhamaal? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
