Denise Van Outen’s ex Eddie Boxshall makes subtle dig at her autobiography saying ‘books sell without need for PR’

Denise Van Outen's ex-boyfriend Eddie Boxshall has appeared to make a subtle dig at her following the release of her new book, A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back.

The 47 year old ended her seven-year relationship with her Gogglebox co-star Eddie in January after reports that he exchanged messages with other women.

And according to The Sun, in an extract of the book, Denise claimed that Eddie "blocked her from a woman he had been sexting on Instagram".

Now, in the midst of Denise's publicity tour for her book, Eddie took to his Instagram Story on Thursday to sarcastically offers "tips" on how to sell books.

Sharing a front cover of a random book entitled: "Marketing for adults. How your book sells itself… 10 ways your book is your ultimate marketing tool."

He then added the caption: "First way of 10: By being really interesting read and not needing any PR!!"

OK! Online has contacted Denise and Eddie for further comment,

This comes after Denise, who recently admitted she "wasn't in a great place" following the split, opened up in her new book, A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back.

"There were also Instagram messages alluding to phone sex with a third woman," Denise began in an extract of her book, according to The Sun.

Denise said she found it "odd" that the woman's account had been blocked by her – something she claimed she didn't personally do.

Upon unblocking her and contacting her, Denise said that woman suggested that Eddie had "probably gone into my phone and blocked her, so she couldn't message me."

It comes after Denise opened up about how the shocking split impacted her life to Lorraine Kelly.

Lorraine, 61, began: "The book was delayed, as obviously things changed in your life, you split up, we'd seen the two of you on Gogglebox obviously, it's sad, are you ok?"

"I'm alright, yeah," Denise replied, "do you know what, I'm feeling really good now, because I wasn't in a great place, it was all a bit of a shock.

"But these things happen, I'm not the first person it's happened to, and I won't be the last, sadly. It's life, isn't it, Lorraine? And you just have to get on with it."
