Dawn French recreates iconic puddle jump in 2009
Dawn French has issued an update about her health as she sets to undergo a knee operation this week.
Last week, the actress announced she had to postpone the rest of her tour as she was unable to walk properly.
In a new post on Monday, Dawn, 66, shared a selfie of her in a hospital gown as she prepared for a scan.
Alongside a picture of her pulling a worried face, she wrote: “Got my big girl pants on. And my a**e hanging out.”
The Vicar of Dibley star followed up the snap with one of her in a room in front of a scan suite.

On Saturday, Dawn said she was “furious” that she had to “admit defeat” and postpone all her remaining tour dates.
She went on to rant: “My STUPID SELFISH ol’arthritic knee has totally given up & won’t let me walk.
“I am swearing a lot. I am berefet to let you down. Sorry.”
She went on to say: “On the upside, I can have the op I so desperately need, earlier than planned,” adding the team were “working hard” to reschedule the tour dates.

“Hope you feel much better soon,” Sarah Millican typed.
Dawn recently said she had been struggling with knee problems ever since she recreated the famous jumping in a puddle scene from The Vicar of Dibley in 2009.
The actress was asked to re-do the moment for Paul O’Grady’s chat show, but the “catastrophically misguided” attempt resulted long-lasting knee pain.
Dawn claimed she was a “fool” to believe that having just “two inches of water”, on top of a “shallow silicon membrane” and “two very thin crash mats in a film studio with a flat concrete floor” for the moment would not end in disaster.
Explaining further at her one-woman show in Exeter, she added: “I went 10ft down and plump on to the two crash mats. One leg twisted very awkwardly underneath me and I landed very heavily.”
While landing, Dawn recalled how she “heard the worst twanging noise you could ever imagine” and instantly “knew” she was “in trouble”.
“But I completed the sketch. I clearly felt like I’d rather die than admit weakness,” she continued, according to Mail Online.
The actress went on to tell the audience that recreating the scene is the last time she had “two functioning legs”.
The “painful years” that followed led to the actress walking with a cane and later seeking advice from a sports therapist, who recommended an eight-week rest and claimed she could need a knee replacement in the future.
