David Beckham reaches out to son Brookyln in New Year’s post: ‘We miss you’

Footballer and Inter Miami CF owner David Beckham has shared a sweet snap of his family ushering in the New Year together, against a backdrop of stunning festive fireworks.

Looking sharp in a velvet tux, David was seen posing alongside his youngest son Romeo who took after his dad – wearing a smart suit and tie combo.

Cruz also wore a smart brown jacket, as he stood beside mum Victoria Beckham and younger sister Harper Seven, who adorably blinked during the photo.

However, one key family member was missing from the photo – David’s eldest son, Brooklyn.

In the caption, David tagged the 23-year-old and told him how much the family missed him.

David wrote: “Happy New Year from the BECKHAM’s…we love you @brooklynpeltzbeckham we miss you…”

Brooklyn Beckahm was no doubt celebrating with his new wife, Nicola Peltz, whom he married in a lavish ceremony which was featured in Vogue last year.

Nevertheless, David wanted to make sure that his son didn’t feel excluded from the family’s festivities.

The post comes amid reports of a feud between Victoria Beckham and her daughter-in-law Nicola, after Nicola opted for a couture gown by Valentino on her wedding day.

The dress, which was alleged to have cost £2.3 million, supposedly caused the rift between Nicola and designer Victoria, who had hoped the heiress would wear one of her designs.

Although the pair have denied the feud, Nicola did acknowledge that there were tensions a in telling interview.

Speaking to The Times, Nicola said that “no family was perfect” but insisted that the feud was created by the press.

"I mean, maybe they picked up on something? And now they're labelling it feud…. I think it all started – and I've said this before – because I didn't end up wearing Victoria's wedding dress.”

She continued: “The real truth is, I really, really wanted to wear it and I thought it was so beautiful that Brooklyn's mom got to make that for me! And I was really excited to wear it!

"We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn’t hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it. So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie, and I was like, ‘Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?’ I’ve been a fan of Valentino and their couture for so long. I was really lucky to be able to travel to [the atelier] to try on the dress. That’s really what happened."

Nicola also told the newspaper that she was frustrated by reports in the press, that claimed she never intended to wear the dress.

However, the 27 year old heiress further added to speculation when she did not include Victoria in any of her wedding posts on Instagram.

Both sides have continued to deny that there is any bad blood.

It's been a difficult year for the Beckhams, as David also faced backlash after partnering with Qatar to promote the World Cup last year.
