Celebrity couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard to host new game show ‘Family Game Fight’

Family are the friends we don’t get to pick – unless its picking a fight. Celebrity couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard pick a friendly “Family Game Fight” as hosts of the new NBC game show.

In the couple’s first TV project together, Bell and Shepard will both host and compete against one another, parting ways to join two new competing families each episode to face off in a series of games. The stakes are a bit higher than just household bragging rights as the families compete for cash prizes.

The 10-episode series will air on NBC and has funny woman Ellen DeGeneres at the helm as executive producer. A premiere date has not been set as the show is still looking for dueling families of four to join in on the fun.

Bell and Shepard revealed that during the early days of their budding romance the two “fell in love” with each other at a competitive game night.

“For one of our first dates, I invited Dax over for a game night at my house with a bunch of friends,” Bell said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday. “He said he fell in love with me there because I was a very tiny person bossing everyone around. I fell in love with him too because he’s a very large person who could boss everyone around, but chooses not to.”

Bell and Shepard may be battling against each other in this project, but at home it is all about love and support.

Last year, Shepard emotionally revealed that he had broken 16 years of sobriety by taking prescription pain pills that were given after motorcycle accident. He said that the “unconditional love” he received from Bell was what saved his life. Earlier that year, Bell expressed her pride for her husband’s courage while appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” saying her husband is “doing really great,” and that she will “continue to stand by him, because he’s very, very worth it.”

The two tied the knot in 2013 and have two daughters: Lincoln and Delta.
