It comes as Carol tweeted in view of her 453,000 followers: “Morning lovelies.

“On air at 1130 on @BBCRadioWales for a bit of a laugh and some great music.”

The radio presenter then asked for requests from her listeners for her show.

“For your mention answer this,” Carol added.

“What hand-me-downs did you have as a child which you LOVED or LOATHED??” which was followed by two laughing face emojis.

The star confessed: “I grew up on hand me downs.

“Don’t think I had any new clothes until I was 9.”

One keen fan responded: “My younger sister, Joanne used to hate getting hand-me-downs from me and my twin as she obviously got double of monstrosities like these jumpers!”

Another fan asked: “Only as a child?!

“My mother tried to hand me down a top last week, and I’m 46!!!

“She knows very well that we have completely different taste in clothes, so I don’t know why she bothers!!”

A third could relate to Carol’s admission as they also penned: “Yeah I grew up on hand me downs the biggest problem with that is it was my sisters the mini skirts were the worst.”
