Good Morning Britain weather presenter Alex Beresford, 40, found himself on the firing line from former colleague, Piers Morgan, 55, earlier this week. Piers described Alex as the “stand-in weather guy” as he spoke about his time on the breakfast show.

That was a funny joke

However, Alex appears to be letting Piers’ comments go over his head as he found himself enjoying an afternoon with some cute goats.

As attractions across the country prepare themselves to welcome the public on Monday, Alex visited Longleat to meet their latest additions, who haven’t yet met the public.

Cradling a pair of pygmy goats, Alex appeared to be in his element as he happily laughed away.

Taking to his Twitter page where he boasts 256,000 followers, the weather presenter shared an adorable video clip of himself holding the baby goats as he rocked backwards and forwards.

Captioning his video, he wrote: “On Monday Peewee and Piglet from @longleat will meet the public for the first time. I swung by to help them get some last-minute rest and got a hug for the first time in months. #pygmygoats #roadmap #lockdown.”

Another snap saw Alex beaming from ear to ear as he struggled to contain his laughter while a much older pygmy goat relaxed next to him while nibbling on treats.

“Bruh!! That was a funny joke,” he penned.

His posts come just days after Piers unleashed a blistering attack during his first interview with Fox Nation’s Tucker Carlson since walking away from Good Morning Britain.

Piers told viewers in America that Alex wasn’t a journalist but in fact, an “occasional” addition to the panel and had been asked to participate to share his thoughts about Meghan Markle, resulting in Piers storming off the set.

Speaking about Alex, the outspoken columnist said: “He’s the stand-in weather guys who does the weather occasionally – he’s not a journalist nut he’s somebody that I’ve helped with his career a number of times when he’s asked me to.”

He went on to add: “And he’s somebody who occasionally takes part in our debates in the way that you might see Al Roker doing with Today Show, similar kind of thing but he’s not there very often.

“But, I had specifically asked for him to come in that morning because he had sent me a private message in which he expressed some concern about what he felt was – I wasn’t really understanding where Meghan Markle was coming from as a biracial woman.”

Piers’ attack continued: “He was himself biracial and he wanted to explain to us. I said, well come on air, let’s have the conversation.

“But the moment he came on air, he came with a pretty premeditated attack on me on a pretty personal level, and, frankly, I just wasn’t going to have it.

“I walked off… I was quite angry in the moment, that I have a personal vendetta against Meghan Markle, which I don’t.”

Speaking of Piers’ departure, Alex said: “Piers’ departure sincerely wasn’t the conclusion I was hoping for.

“Over the last few years, Piers and I have had a lively, cheeky on-air relationship.

“We both wanted to be on the show Tuesday morning and from our very public conversations on Twitter, we both knew how strongly our opinions differed on the treatment of Harry and Meghan pre and post the Oprah interview that has split the world.”

Piers had told his GMB co-stars and viewers that he refused to believe Meghan had battled with her mental health which subsequently saw her have suicidal thoughts.

After watching her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Piers said that he was “sickened” by what he had seen and added that the interview was a “two-hour trashathon of our royal family, of the monarchy and everything our Queen has worked so hard for.”

Despite his criticism of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Piers is eager to sit down with the Duchess and would want to ask her “more difficult questions” surrounding her claims.

He went on to add that he would ask: “But let me ask you a wider question, which is this, ‘If you hate the royal family that much, why do you keep your royal titles?’

“Why would you do that if it’s just not to make millions and millions of dollars?”
