Earlier this week, the makers of the film released a song, Teri Mitti. The song rides high on patriotism and is sung by B Praak who is known for his deep soulful renditions. The music is rendered by Arko and deals with the struggles of the soldiers from the Sikh regiment and their families during the battle. The song evokes the patriotism within you and will leave you highly emotional. Watch it here if you haven’t done so yet:

Kesari is a historical war drama based on one of the greatest battles ever fought in Indian history. The movie is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi, in which 21 Sikh Soldiers of the East India Company fought against 10,000 Afghan invaders. Akshay revealed in a recent interview that he was shocked to find out that not many knew about this heroic battle and hoped the situation would change after this film. In an interview to IANS, the actor was quoted as saying, “It is an emotional film. It is the story about those brave Sikhs who fought for their country. Unfortunately, not many people know about their battle. A year ago, when I was researching about it, there were hardly 3-4 articles on the internet, but now there are 40,000 articles on them. I hope after this film, things will change and it will be added in the school syllabus.”

Written and directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari is bankrolled by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, Zee Studios, and Azure Entertainment. Apart from Akshay and Parineeti, the film also stars Mir Sarwar, Vikram Kochhar, Vivek Saini and Vansh Bhardwaj in pivotal roles. The film will release on the occasion of Holi on March 21.
