This current series of Strictly Come Dancing has been making headlines as much for the off screen antics of some of the couples than it is for the footwork on the dancefloor.
One of the celebrity hopefuls for the Glitterball TrophyDr Ranj Singh has spilled the beans on why the likes of Seann Walsh and Katya Jones found themselves in each other’s arms.
The 39-year-old doctor, who is paired up with professional dancer Janette Manrara, said that the couples are under an "immense amount of pressure", in which any steps out of line are hugely magnified.
The This Morning and Cbeebies star said that Seann and Katya had done "really well… given the week they’d had in the press", after the comedian was caught kissing his dance partner.
Speaking to Radio Times , the good doctor said that Strictly was the "biggest show in the country", which meant that "any faltering will be amplified massively."
He praised the efforts of Seann and Katya, saying they "did really well, and that was wonderful to see given the week they’d had in the press."
Former England cricketer Graeme Swann was far more scathing about what goes on when the cameras stop rolling.
The 39-year-old Ashes winning sporting hero said on the BBC Sounds podcast that while everyone was “lovey dovey darling” to each other’s faces but were far more scathing when out of earshot.
He said that behind closed doors, "you are pulling out the knives from your back every five minutes."
Graeme also pointed out that, "there’s always one or two… who no one really likes but everyone pretends to."
