CAG report on Rafale not tabled on February 12

The report is now expected to be tabled on February 13, which is also the last day of the 16th Lok Sabha.

The much-awaited CAG report on Rafale deal was not tabled in Parliament on February 12.

Pre-empting the report, the Congress cited conflict of interest in CAG Rajiv Mehrishi overseeing the audit of Rafale deal since he was the Finance Secretary at the time the deal was being sealed. The Congress further accused Mr. Mehrishi of trying to save the government. The CPI(M) too has raised questions on the CAG report calling it highly compromised. The report is now expected to be tabled on February 13, which is also the last day of the 16th Lok Sabha.
