The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M.K. Stalin will make his maiden visit to the district after assuming charge as the head of the party on September 18, when he will participate in a demonstration in front of the Collectorate in the city.
The agitation was to highlight and condemn the corrupt practices indulged in by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and other Ministers and also to demand a thorough probe into gutkha scandal.
The agitation will be organised jointly by the Salem Central, East and West district units of the DMK.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday, R. Rajendran, MLA and secretary of the Salem Central district unit of the DMK, said that Mr. Stalin will arrive here by road from Chennai on September 17 late evening and a reception will be accorded to him on behalf of all the three units of the party at Thalaivasal, the district border.
