Tracee Ellis Ross is doing it for the culture at the 2018 American Music Awards.
“I’ve featured black designers in all of my @AMAs press looks, and will do the same for all my show looks tonight!” the “Blackish” star 45, tweeted on Tuesday. “Stay tuned for look-by-look details!”
The star added on Instagram that she did it all “FOR THE CULTURE.”
And Ross’ outfits for the big show didn’t disappoint. First, she walked the red carpet in a pink suit by Pyer Moss accessorized with a Jacob & Co. choker, heels by Christian Louboutin and earrings by Mattia Cielo and Djula Jewelry.
For her opening dance number, the second-time AMA host changed into a custom cape by Dapper Dan for Gucci over a black sequined Nicolas Jebran bodysuit, swapping out the skintight number for a glittering gold sequined CD Greene gown.
Ross later changed into something a little more political with an “I am a voter” T-shirt created by her stylist Karla Welch in collaboration with When We All Vote. She paired the top with a cherry-red Shanel Campbell skirt and Aminah Jillil shoes.
After a quick change into a glamorous pink tulle gown by Off-White and Louboutin heels, Ross managed to one-up even herself in a Sergio Hudson leopard-print catsuit, gloves, belt, and beret, Casadei pumps, and huge rhinestoned Gucci sunglasses.
She then went for something equally statement-making in a red and blue print LAVIEbyCK fishtail gown with dramatic bell sleeves paired with Stuart Weitzman earrings & pumps, followed by a black sequin, double-breasted sheath.
For the actress’ penultimate look she wore a cerulean, button-up, belted gown paired with shoulder-length crystal earrings, one of which was worn as a brooch.
And finally, Ross wrapped up the show in a red, off-the-shoulder jumpsuit.
