Louise Redknapp reveals extreme face injuries after horror fall

Louise Redknapp has shared a picture of the extreme injuries on her face which promoted her to pull out of her role in a West End show.

The former Eternal singer, 44, suffered a horror fall on her way to rehearsals for Dolly Parton musical 9 to 5 on Tuesday.

She was rushed to hospital where she had 10 stitches in her chin and was treated for a fractured wrist.

The singer has now taken to Instagram to share a picture of her wounds and apologise to fans for pulling out of the show.

She wrote: "It breaks my heart to say I am having to take some time out and won’t be able to continue with my role in 9-5.

"Due to a nasty fall I have only gone and fractured my wrist and got 10 (yes 10) stitches in my chin.

"Following my doctors orders- they have said I will be ok but as they say in the theatre ’the show must go on’ and I wish the rest of the fabulous cast an amazing opening night and I will be back on that stage for 9-5 before you know it."

Louise is going to miss the show’s opening night in London at the end of January and she could be side-lined for two months.

A source close to the star told The Sun : "It happened on the way to rehearsals on Tuesday morning. She fell in the street.

"She went to hospital and had stitches. Then doctors told her she needs time out and can’t do the show.

"She is obviously completely devastated because this is a dream role for her. It doesn’t seem fair."

Producers at London’s Savoy Theatre have yet to announce who will be taking over from Louise in the show, which also stars Love Island’s Amber Davies.

They said in a statement: "We hope Louise will start performances towards the end of March or early April.

"Due to an injury this week, Louise Redknapp has had to temporarily withdraw from performing the role of Violet in 9 to 5 The Musical.

"The recovery time recommended means Louise is no longer able to properly rehearse the show in the remaining time left before opening.

"Together we have made the difficult decision to delay Louise’s start date in the show. We hope that Louise will start performances sometime towards the end of March/early April 2019. Everyone at 9 to 5 wishes Louise a speedy recovery and we look forward to welcoming her back."
