Beth Chapman Dead at 51: Daughter Shares Poignant Tribute, Fans Mourn Late Star

As previously reported, Beth Chapman has lost her battle with throat cancer.

The longtime reality star and wife of Dog the Bounty Hunter died this morning at the age of 51.

Duane Chapman himself confirmed this tragic news, Tweeting this morning to all his followers:

It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth.

See you on the other side.

For those who have not been tracking this story closely, Beth was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017.

After undergoing chemotherapy, she proudly announced that she was in remission — but the disease returned this past November, with Chapman having to be rushed into emergency surgery as a result.

Over the past few months, Beth and Duane have both kept fans apprised of the former’s condition, sending out various messages over the past several weeks that signaled her condition was deteriorating.

Her passing comes soon after news broke that Beth was placed in a medically induced coma over the weekend at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.

It then became clear over the past 48 hours or so that she was unlikely to ever wake up from it.

In the wake of this loss, Beth’s daughter, Bonnie, has paid brief and beautiful tribute to her mom.

“So thankful to call you my mother. Rest In Peace, mom. I love you so much,” wrote the 20-year old as a caption to the following heartbreaking photograph:

Going back to the time she was initially diagnosed, Beth has been as open as one can be about her journey and her struggle.

For instance, she allowed cameras to document her fight against this illness in an emotional, two-hour A&E special titled Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives.

Following a 13-hour surgery – where doctors removed a tumor the size of a plum as well as her lymph nodes – the reality TV star was declared cancer-free in the fall of 2017.

“We cannot let this experience tear us apart,” she shared with her family as cameras rolled. “We need to bring us together. If this is the worst of it, then all it can be is better.”

She would late post pictures of herself in a wig and write candidly about her experience after the cancer came back.

Duane and Beth were together for 16 years before getting married in 2006.

The Hawaii ceremony took place one day after Dog’s daughter, 23-year-old Barbara Katy Chapman, was killed in a car accident in Alaska.

The couple rose to fame when they appeared on their A&E show Dog the Bounty Hunter for eight seasons until 2012.

Fromt here, they briefly appeared on CMT’s Dog and Beth: On the Hunt.

This past December, Duane spoke to Us Weekly about the ordeal, telling the tabloid of his brave wife and her battle:

“I don’t listen to the bad news. I don’t want to hear it. … I pray a lot, anywhere. I cry all the time.

“I’m a sinner. I pray a lot. I have done double that. I constantly ask God to heal my honey and make sure He takes care of it. I’ve been telling Him that I’m going to try and quit smoking and cursing.

“I’m a dealmaker, and I’ll do anything.”
